Everything you need to trust your sync

Built for people who have lost files to a sync tool before.

  • LAN-firstPlanned

Devices on the same network talk directly, so large folders move at local speed without a cloud detour.

  • Pair with a QR codePlanned

Scan a code to connect a second device. No IP addresses, no device IDs to copy by hand.

  • Safe two-way sync

A snapshot of the last sync tells real deletions apart from missing files, so nothing disappears by accident.

  • Clear conflict resolution

When a file changed on both sides, you see both versions and decide. By default Syncra keeps both.

  • Independent version backup

Replaced and deleted files are kept as versions in a separate location you can restore from.

  • An interface that explains itself

Preview every copy and delete before it happens. Plain words instead of cryptic logs.

How safe sync works

Three guards stand between a mistake and your files.

  1. Three-way comparison

Syncra compares the left folder, the right folder and a snapshot of the last sync. That is how it knows a file was deleted rather than never copied — and when both sides changed.

  2. Versions, not overwrites

Conflicting edits are kept side by side with a “(conflict date time)” name instead of being overwritten, and replaced or deleted files are kept in a separate .syncra/versions folder you can restore from.

  3. Mass-delete guard

If a run would delete more than half of a folder or over 1,000 files, Syncra stops and asks you first. A wrong drive letter never wipes your backup.

Frequently asked questions

Is Syncra free?

Yes. The web app and the core sync features are free for personal use and need no account. Pro and Business plans are planned for advanced automation and teams.

Do my files get uploaded anywhere?

No. The web app reads and writes folders on your own computer through your browser. Nothing is sent to our servers.

Which browsers support the web app?

All modern browsers. In desktop Chrome, Edge and Opera it syncs your folders in place. Firefox, Safari and mobile browsers can't let websites write to folders, so there Syncra compares the folders and gives you ZIP files with the changes, or keeps a synced copy in a browser vault. For direct two-way sync there, use the desktop app.

What happens when a file changes on both sides?

Syncra treats it as a conflict and keeps both: the newer copy keeps the original name and the older one is renamed with “(conflict date time)” on both sides.

How does Syncra prevent accidental deletion?

It remembers what both folders looked like after the last sync, so it only deletes files you really deleted. Large deletions need your explicit confirmation, and the first sync never deletes anything.

How is Syncra different from Dropbox or Syncthing?

Dropbox stores your files in its cloud; Syncra syncs your own folders and drives directly. Compared with Syncthing, Syncra focuses on previewing changes, explicit conflict choices and simple pairing.
